Melissa M. Lingle, M. Ed.
Melissa works as the full time elementary music teacher for the Riverside School District; teaching all the general music classes and conducting three choirs, including the select group, Viking Voices. In addition to teaching, her talents include playing piano and flute, and singing for her church worship team. She has a deep love of music and theater, having performed in The Mikado, The Elixir of Love, and The Barber of Seville while in college. She holds both a Bachelor of Science degree in Music Education from Pensacola Christian College and a Master’s of Education Degree in Curriculum and Design from Summit University. Melissa is also an active member of the Pennsylvania Music Educator’s Association, American Choral Directors Association, and National Association for Music Education. She spends evenings teaching college classes to future music educators at Clarks Summit University. Her summers and weekends are kept busy with directing and teaching musical theater for the Creative and Performing Arts Academy of NEPA, Playhouse Division, at the Ritz Theater in Scranton. She also provides private music instruction for voice, piano, and flute for CaPAA students some evenings as well.
Originally from Roseburg, Oregon, Melissa has been a part of Northeastern Pennsylvania since 1997. She has been teaching music for more than thirty years. She loves chocolate, reading, and hot tea. Her favorite role is being wife to her husband, Joe Lingle, and mother to her four grown children: Robert, Sarah, Katie, and Carolynn.
