Mariana Winters was born and raised in Clarks Summit, Pa where she attended and graduated from Abington Heights School District. During her time at Abington Heights she took part in Concert and Marching Band, Concert Choir, Musical Theater, and Orchestra. Clarinet is her primary instrument but Mariana also plays piano and previously studied the violin and cello. Aside from being a talented musician and performer Mariana is also a seasoned dancer who has studied Ballet, Pointe, Tap, Jazz, Modern, and Hip-Hop for seventeen years at “A Steppin’ Time Dance Company” where she is now an instructor. She has also studied dance with the Ballet Theater of Scranton and the Binghamton University Dance Intensive. Her hard work and dedication to the arts has been shown through her many accomplishments; some of which include taking on the demanding role of drum major and receiving the prestigious John Phillip Sousa Award. Mariana has performed in several musical theater productions including Grease, A Midsummer’s Night Dream, and Beauty and the Beast. Her performance as Woodstock in the production of You’re A Good Man Charlie Brown awarded her the ETSA Award for “Best Featured Dancer” in 2016. Continuing her schooling Mariana studies Music Education and Theater at Marywood University where she participates in Wind Symphony, Wind Ensemble, Choir, and the Marywood Players. In her spare time Mariana works on staff for Northeastern Wind Ensemble and serves as the secretary for Marywood’s NAFMEE association. Her journey with CaPAA started almost a year ago and she can’t wait to work with the students and staff on their next production.
