Genevieve Kirby grew up in Clarks Summit, PA where she attended and graduated from Abington Heights High School. During her adolescence she took drawing classes and studied dance at the Abington Civic Dance League. She graduated from AHHS in 2010 and went on to study social work at Temple University. After receiving her BSW in 2015 from Temple, she started the Masters program at Marywood University for Art Education and is currently a full time student.
Genevieve’s artwork is centered around figurative drawings and landscape paintings as well as working in the 3 dimensional form through sculpture. She was just featured in Marywood’s April “Student Spotlight” article which can be found here: https://wherecreativityw
While Genevieve may be new to the art scene in Scranton, she hopes to continue working towards her goal as an elementary art school educator. She is looking forward to working with the wonderful kids at CaPAA this summer and beyond as the program continues to grow and offer more classes and workshops in the visual arts.
