Daniel Kermidas was born and raised in Endicott, NY. He trained in dance at Amber Perkins School of the Arts, performing for many of the local theaters, including the Endicott Performing Arts Center and SRO Productions.
Daniel has traveled and toured the country with Broadway shows such as West Side Story (Arab, Baby John), the Tony Award winning, Memphis- The Musical, and Queen’s We Will Rock You. Favorite regional credits include Disney’s Newsies (Race), West Side Story (Action, Arab), The Music Man (Tommy Djilas), Carousel (Roustabout), Mamma Mia!, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, Memphis The Musical, Gypsy and Dirty Rotten Scoundrels. He was also one of the top dancers in Season 9 of So You Think You Can Dance!
Daniel currently teaches various styles of dance as a faculty member at Marymount Manhattan College, as well as other colleges across the country. He is also the co-creator and the artistic director of the non profit Kermidas Dance Company (KDC).
The company is dedicated to providing professional dance training and providing artists with a place to develop new works.
Daniel has directed and choreographed shows such as Cinderella, Wonderland, A Night of New Work, and The Warehouse Concert.
As well as a performer, he has also written and directed two original musicals; Golden Days, a 1940s war time love story, performed at the Endicott Performing Arts Center.
And a modern coming of age story called Higher Than Rainbows, performed in NYC in 2018.
He is a graduate from Marymount Manhattan College in NYC and holds a BFA in Dance and a minor in Musical Theater.
